.tree hugging dirt worshiper.
L and I finally disposed of our rotting pumpkins on the front stoop. Seven heaps of mush that required shoveling into the compost bin. RIP.

We then went for a lovely fall walk on the boardwalk and beach today, we found some shells that we plan to paint and give as Christmas gifts. We sat in the dunes and watched the waves roll in to shore and talked for a while. It was absolutely beautiful, a bit cold but the waves were huge and the smell of the balsam fir permeated my senses. On the way back we decided to walk through the woods (now thinking back it may not have been a great idea since it is hunting season). I forgot how much I love walking through the patches of trees and shrubs, stepping in mud and smelling all of the wonderful decaying forest smells.
